World Mental Health Day
In honour of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, we offered a one-hour taster session in creative psychotherapy, mental health, and well-being for all students.
This valuable opportunity allowed students to experience creative therapies first-hand. The sessions were facilitated by Rheanna Berryman - Dance Movement Psychotherapist, Sarah Kinsey - Art Psychotherapist, and Lucy Reed - Family Liaison Officer and Mental Health Lead, who guided students through this experiential learning process. Students were in their tutor groups, supported by their class TA. During the session, students explored various props and art materials, connected with their bodies, and expressed themselves creatively. They were also introduced to the range of mental health support available at St Catherine’s, including Art Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, and well-being check-ins. The session highlighted how these services can help, why they might be needed, and how to access them.
It was a pleasure and privilege to see all the students engage so openly in this session, making the most of this opportunity to focus on their mental well-being.
