Grand Kitchen Opening and Breakfast Club Sharing Morning
Before half-term we were able to officially open the kitchen in Blue building after having an extensive re-fit.
The kitchen contains five individual kitchen areas, each with its own cooker and kitchen equipment. Students will now be able to use the kitchen throughout the week to take part in OT-led life skills sessions, individual cooking sessions and Duke of Edinburgh sessions as part of clubs on Fridays. The kitchen is also now the new home for Breakfast Club. The bigger space means students are now able to take more of a role in making their own breakfast and clearing up after themselves too (an important life skill!). We invited the whole school to the kitchen to try some breakfast options and have a look at the new space. Students were able to try toast, various cereals, croissants, pancakes and smoothies. Breakfast club is available before school to support those students that haven’t had breakfast for whatever reason and is a welcoming, calm space to start the day off. Please contact Miss Walker or Mr Gibbins if you would like any more information about Breakfast Club.
