The purpose of our Post 19 provision is to support our students to be as independent as possible, so our students will work towards travelling from Ventnor to Ryde, and then Portsmouth independently. Many of our students travel independently from Portsmouth to home via local transport links.

However, if needed, we can offer escorted travel services to the mainland via the cross-Solent services in Ryde (Hovertravel and Wightlink FastCat). 

Special travel arrangements

The Isle of Wight does have a number of other routes to the mainland such as Southampton, Bournemouth, and further beyond from London, and we are happy to help parents with these if needed.
